Former President Barack Obama had the honour of meeting Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea recently, as Emilia Clarke shared pictures of their meeting him on Instagram.

Clarke revealed that there were “tears” as she met the former Commander-in-Chief and called him her “hero.”

The pair met at a Dreamforce conference last week, where they were both keynote speakers alongside Apple CEO Tim Cook, Olympian Megan Rapinoe and David Beckham.

In a gallery shared by Clarke, she and Obama were seen shaking hands as they smiled at one another.

She wrote, “DROP. THE. GODDAMN. MIC. I met my hero. And yes, tears were present.”

Another photo showed them laughing at each other, and her caption may have provided a clue as to what they were laughing about. She continued that her “terrible terrible jokes” were also a part of their meeting.

“@barackobama thank you for being alive…#Michelle…so…wannahang?” she finished.

Her Game of Thrones co-stars were just as thrilled as Clarke in the comments, as Nathalie Emmanuel and Lena Headey shared over exuberant strings of emojis. Another fan asked Clarke, “Did he bend the knee?”

Clarke was at the conference to discuss her experience as a survivor of two brain aneurysms, speaking to Bennet Omalu about her recovery, new charity Same You and “how to be pathologically hopeful.”

Clarke previously revealed she suffered from two aneurysms while filming Game of Thrones.

At the event Obama gave leadership advice to conference attendees and according to ComputerWeekly, said, “You have to have people smarter than you sitting around the table. The people who do the work.”

He also continued, “Diversity is not charity. We all have blind spots. And if you don’t have women at your table, you are missing a mark.”

A number of high profile speakers were involved with the event championed by software company Salesforce, including basketball player Stephen Curry, Deepak Chopra, Richard Curtis, Robin Wright, Kat Graham and Ariana Huffington.

David Beckham also revealed he was thrilled to meet Clarke at the same event, sharing a picture of the pair on Instagram where he wrote he was “a little star struck whilst being in the same vicinity of the Mother of Dragons.”
