Emilia Clarke will co-write the new Image Comics series M.O.M.: Mother of Madness, featuring a superpowered single mother.

Emilia Clarke is well known for her role as the “Mother of Dragons” Daenerys Targaryen on Game of Thrones. Her newest project for Image Comics also focuses on a mother — one who just so happens to have superpowers.

M.O.M.: Mother of Madness is a three-issue miniseries written by Clarke and Marguerite Bennett, with illustrations from Leila Leiz. It centers on single mother Maya, who discovers she has superpowers and uses them to fight a human trafficking ring. Speaking to EW, Clarke described the series as having a tongue-in-cheek approach to humor similar to Deadpool, but with a feminist angle. [Source]

Emilia Clarke is in final negotiations to join Marvel Studios’ “Secret Invasion,” the hot original series quickly coming together at Disney Plus.

The “Game of Thrones” headliner’s role is naturally under wraps, and marks her first foray into the Marvel universe. She joins previously-reported cast Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Kingsley Ben-Adir, and Olivia Colman.

Marvel Studios declined to comment on the matter. Reps for Clarke did not immediately comment on the matter.

“Secret Invasion” was announced as a development property last year, one of Marvel’s many planned titles for Disney Plus. Jackson is reprising his MCU role of Nick Fury, while Mendelsohn will play the Skrull Talos as he did in the feature film “Captain Marvel.”

The series is said to follow a group of shape-shifting aliens who have been infiltrating Earth for years. Ben-Adir has been set as the a main villain. Kyle Bradstreet is attached to write and executive produce. Kevin Feige’s unit is producing the series for the streamer, as it does all other MCU titles, including the hits “WandaVision” and “Falcon and the Winter Soldier.”

Clarke is a four-time Emmy nominee for her portrayal of Daenerys Targaryen on HBO’s global smash “Game of Thrones,” which just celebrated the 10th anniversary of its premiere. She is also a multiple Critics Choice Award nominee and was the 2018 recipient of the BAFTA Britannia Award for British Artist of the Year. Clarke is an AMPAS member and was also noted as one of Time’s 100 Most Influential People. She is repped by Range Media Partners, CAA, and Hansen, Jacobson, Teller, Hoberman, Newman, Warren, Richman, Rush, Kaller & Gellman.

Her film credits include the holiday film “Last Christmas,” “Me Before You,” “Terminator Genisys,” and “Solo: A Star Wars Story.” She’ll voice a role in the upcoming animated film “The Amazing Maurice.” [Source]

Golden Globe-winning actor Hugh Laurie (“House”) and “Game of Thrones” actor Emilia Clarke will be part of the voice cast for animated feature “The Amazing Maurice.”

The voice cast also includes David Thewlis (“Wonder Woman”), Himesh Patel (“Yesterday”), Gemma Arterton (“Vita & Virginia”) and Hugh Bonneville (“Downton Abbey”). Toby Genkel (“Two by Two: Overboard!”) and Florian Westermann (“Little Dodo”) will co-direct.

The film will be an adaptation of bestselling author, the late Terry Pratchett’s 2001 book “The Amazing Maurice and His Educated Rodents,” which is part of his iconic Discworld series. The book is a take on the popular folk tale about the Pied Piper of Hamelin. It won the Carnegie medal that recognizes the best children’s book in the U.K.

The story follows a streetwise ginger cat who has the perfect money-making scam. He finds a kid who plays a pipe, and also befriends his very own horde of talking rats. When they reach the stricken town of Bad Blintz, their con game goes awry.

Emilia Clarke is back on screens, in a horror anthology called Murder Manual.

The anthology has just dropped on Amazon Prime, and features eight creepy short tales.

We’ll be able to see Clarke’s early foray into horror, as one of the eight is a short film called Shackled, which Clarke starred in back in 2012.

In the short film, Clarke plays Malu, a young woman who is held captive by a circus, as the film follows the frantic attempts to rescue her.

Among the seven other creepy tales, there’s a little girl’s journey from a world of nightmares into the nightmare of reality, a gay couple’s romantic getaway in Palm Springs that turns murderous and a young woman whose rideshare turns deadly.

As well as Clarke, the terrifying films include Hadley Fraser (The Legend of Tarzan), Sylvia Panacione (Jane the Virgin), Maria Olsen (Paranormal Activity 3), and Bryan Manley Davis (The Devil’s Well).

Viewers will have to pay close attention, as all eight stories are connected in some way.

Murder Manual comes as Clarke’s West End play The Seagull had its scheduled run cancelled due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Clarke is set to star in The Seagull prior to Chastain in A Doll’s House, both at London’s Playhouse Theatre.

Anya Reiss’ adaptation of Chekhov’s play will return when the season reopens at the Playhouse Theatre in London, while Frank McGuinness’s adaptation of Ibsen’s drama is still being scheduled at the same venue with a full cast to be announced.

As previously announced, The Seagull stars Clarke as Nina alongside Danny Ashok, Robert Glenister, Tom Rhys Harries, Daniel Monks, Tamzin Outhwaite, Patrick Robinson, Seun Shote, Indira Varma as Arkadina, and Sophie Wu as Masha.

The Seagull features set and costume design by Soutra Gilmour, lighting design by Jackie Shemesh, sound design by George Dennis, costume supervision by Anna Josephs, props supervision by Fahmida Bakht, associate direction by Jonathan Glew, associate design by Rachel Wingate, and Stuart Burt as casting director.
